Whiplash

Whiplash is typically a more severe or persistent neck pain – often caused by sudden harsh movements, such as an auto accident or sports injury. It is very common for symptoms of whiplash to present up to two weeks after the initial accident or injury. Common symptoms include headaches, pain in the neck and shoulders, dizziness or nausea.

Treatment for whiplash should start with icing for 10 minute intervals during the first couple of days post-injury. Our highly skilled chiropractors may review applicable images, such as X-Rays or CTs, and discuss the accident in detail. They may perform spinal manipulation treatments or a neck adjustment. In addition, patients may find massage and rehabilitative exercises helpful in speeding up the recovery time.
